Grisette

Grisette is a fairly obscure farmhouse style that evolved from the mining region in the Southwest of Belgium. Our interpretation consists primarily of Pilsner malt with a healthy portion of flaked wheat and rye gently hopped with Saaz and Comet for balance.

It’s a brilliant straw-colored beer with a persistently fluffy meringue-like head. Grisette presents itself with a sweet rustic grain aroma including notes of bubblegum, hay, and pepper. It finishes dry with lingering notes of white pepper and spicy hop character for perfect balance.

This is a superb summer crusher designed for warm days on a sunny patio!

Altbier (This is Portland, NOT Düsseldorf)

This intensely flavorful and bright copper ale incorporates Weyermann Barke Pilsner malt as its foundation and a touch of German crystal malt to produce deep rich malt aromas, fermented warm, like an ale, and then matured cold to create an extremely pleasant “lagerlike crispness,” that even Jeff would approve of.

With smooth, rich flavorful notes of toffee, fresh baked bread, hints of honey, and subtle underlying esters of dark fruit, this refreshingly clean specialty beer inspired by those found in Düsseldorf has arrived in SE Portland to be enjoyed by lager and ale fans alike!
