In 2018 the Green Dragon Brewers brewed a tasty Barleywine, including a decoction steo to burst open and caramelize the malted barley. A year later we present a wonderful, complex barleywine for your enjoyment. The goal was to brew a big, malt driven beer with sufficient bitter hops to balance all that malt and alcohol. The ability to ferment all that sugar fell to a large pitch of Imperial Flagship yeast and bittering was provided with Magnum hops. We think this beer is one of the better examples of the style, and has earned a place in Big Beer Month 2020.
